Supermodel Joelle Kayembe is going through a messy break up with wealthy businessman Bongani Mbindwane.
According to media reports, Joelle filed for divorce recently at the Johannesburg High Court, in the papers she claimed she was assaulted by her husband and she is also accusing him of having several affairs, and regularly visiting strip clubs and brothels . She is asking for spousal support, their house , as well as bond payments …
Bongani on his side , accuses Joelle of “murdering their child” (she reportedly had an abortion recently)!!!
According to sources close to the couple Mbindwane, who had been away on a business trip, discovered the abortion was done on his birthday, October 22. She was 13 weeks along at the time.
“Bongani was shattered. He’d been bragging that he was getting a son,” says the source.
The source says when Mbindwane confronted Kayembe about killing their baby, she said she thought he was going to leave her, one thing led to another and according to Bongani she started smashing his Audi R8 and threw things around , But Joelle refutes the claims, she said Bongani confronted her about the abortion and when she admitted, he assaulted her, called her a murderer and vandalized her personal belongings, including designer clothes and shoes worth more than R100 000 .
Following the nasty fight, multimillionaire Bongani who is the CEO of platinum and gold company Platfields , threw Joelle out of their upmarket Sandhurst home, and blocked all her credit cards!!!
He also denies they were ever married, according to Bongani they only did a traditional ceremony in her Sandton family home from which she reportedly got a R 1 million engagement ring and more than R 20 000 was paid for her lobola, he claims the traditional ceremony is incomplete as they still had some things to do from his family side…
Joelle who has had a lucrative modeling career and is from a very wealthy family ( her father is successful congolese businessman who owns several clubs in Africa and Belgium has rubbished reports that she is a gold digger who is after Bongani’s money , she just wants him to pay for all the abuse and humiliation she’s been through and is fighting from what she’s entitled to…
If the court acknowledges their marriage according to customary law , then Joelle will be entitled to half of Bongani’s fortune!!!
